Pozar Records is your friendly local record label, run by some friendly local Brooklyn natives. We are really sick of all these hipster and yuppie invaders who claim there was no culture here before they came down from Wisconsin and Massachusetts to bring art to the savages. We feel that if Todd P had never set foot here we would be better off, not worse off, and we are here to prove it. We are a small operation, run out of our living rooms and basements, we are the same kids you saw playing all ages shows at L'Amour and dancing at the Temple at the beginning of this lousy decade. We're growing up now, and feeling the pinch of the recession and the dying economy, but we aren't going anywhere anytime soon. When all these pseudo indie rockers get tired of playing bohemian and move back to where they came from to get a job at daddy's business we'll still be here making music, whether anybody is listening or not.

This record label/website exists to display our work to the world. It is a home for our musical tirades against the horribly boring music scene spreading like a cancer across north Brooklyn, and more importantly for the music that comes out of our heads, the art and the sensibility of someone Brooklyn-raised, for those of us who know this place more intimately than these transplants, those of us who deserve to have a voice in the evolution of this place, because it is our hometown. Anyone who thought that they could push us out by raising our rent and silence us by closing our venues is now going to have to face the reality of the sagging real estate market, the resiliency of our creativity, and the fact that, unfortunately for them, a lot of us survived the gentrification, and are still here. This is our time now. Ready or not, here we come.
